Another Record for Adeleke


 

Tallaght AC’s Rhasidat Adeleke set another record at the National Junior & U23 Indoor Track & Fields Championships in Athlone last weekend.

After a very successful year in 2017 where she set numerous records for both indoor and outdoor competitions over 60m, 100m and 200m including a silver medal in the 200m at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Hungary the 15year old Tallaght athlete continued in sensational form in her first competitive outing of the year to record a new National Junior and Youth record time of 23.80 when winning the Junior/U20 200m final.

There was further joy for the club when Christopher Duffy recorded a new personal best time of 49.51 when winning silver in the Junior 400m final whilst Michael Ogunsiakan recorded 7.55 in his 60m heat.

Elsewhere, Luke Coleman was the first to finish for the club in the Annual Raheny 5 Mile Road Race where he recorded a good time of 26.57 when finishing 31st overall in the large field of over 3500 competitors. Padraig Griffin was next in 53rd with a time of 27.42 and he was followed next by, David O’ Callaghan (28.17), David O’ Brien (30.49), Laura Mc Donnell (31.00), Gerry Schley (31.06), Gareth O’ Keeffe (31.09), Karl Gill (32.03), Stephen Kavanagh (32.22), Dave Meehan (32.46), Paul Murphy (33.40), Clare O’ Brien (38.50), Domhnall Sheridan (39.04), Terry Fayne (39.18), Michelle Metcalfe (42.28), Ciara Forrester (42.36), Naoimh Mahon (45.06), Susan Mc Menamy (45.38), Audrey Kelly (45.39), Joan Gibson (46.17), Regina Moody (47.30) and Suzanne Redmond (49.34).
